PM Was Vaccinated Against Pneumonia Before Receiving the Fifth Dose of Covid-19 Vaccine

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen said that he received the pneumonia vaccine first, before he plans to receive the fifth dose of Covid-19 vaccine in the near future. The Prime Minister made this remark at the Closing Ceremony of the 2020-2021 and the Start of the 2022 Training Courses of the Royal School of Administration, on Monday morning.

"I will also prepare to receive the fifth dose, but a few days ago they checked my blood and saw that the antibodies are still high because the effect of the fourth dose has not yet finished,” said the Prime Minister. “So, I took the vaccine to protect the lungs because Covid-19 affects the lungs, the doctors said they have vaccines to protect the lungs from pneumonia."

The Prime Minister also called on all Cambodians and foreigners in Cambodia to go and get the vaccine, because vaccine distribution in Cambodia does not discriminate against any race or politics, and the Royal Government does not charge money for Covid-19 vaccines.

As of 11 June 2022, the vaccination rate in Cambodia is at 94.1% of the 16 million population. This includes 103.23% of those aged 18 and above, 100.65% of those aged 12-17, 109.23% of those aged 6-11, and 133.6% of those 5 years of age.
